HIKING
All roads lead to Louvie!

The famous hike that connects Chamonix and Zermatt passes through Cabane de Louvie.

For a one or two-day hike:
Leave your vehicle at Châble station and take the cable car to Ruinettes or la Chaux above Verbier. From the exit of the cable car follow the little yellow signs to "Cabane de Louvie”. You will then take the famous ‘Sentier des Chamois’ walk for 4h30 (45min longer if taking the Ruinettes track). The trail passes through Col Termin at 2648m altitude.

After a stop at the cabin for one night, or one hour, you continue on for a 1h30 decent to Fionnay. The post bus will take you back to Châble station. (Bus and train hours can be found here)

Le haut Val de Bagnes has many possible trails. The trail explained here is the most common, but it can easily be extended along the pass of the Col du Bec d'Aigle, or the Col du Sarshlau.
Departure From Fionnay:
Fionnay is located at the bottom of the Val de Bagnes, 20 minutes drive from Châble. The departure of the trail for Louvie is in front of the parking lot when arriving at Fionnay, it is on the left. It takes about 2 hours to walk, ascending up another 800 meters, to reach one of the deck chairs at the cabin.

FISHING
A paradise for fly-fishing, Lake Louvie is open for fishing from the first Sunday in June until the last Sunday in November. A cantonal or daily license is essential. Daily permits are available at the cabin for 30 chf per day or 50 chf for 2 days. Attention: fishing is controlled and regulated.
THE NATURE RESERVE
The Haut Val de Bagnes, the second largest nature reserve in Switzerland, has been a protected area since 1968. It is home to exceptional flora and many animals. Ibex, chamois and marmots are never far away!
The fauna and flora have priority over 150 km2 so we must respect some rules for their welfare; we must keep dogs on a leash and camping in the reserve is prohibited. To camp in the region you can find a camp ground at Bonachiesse.
